Meet Michelle

Hi!  I'm Michelle,

I'm a teacher at heart, an eternal optimist, determined, funny and passionate.  I am happily married to a very supportive and encouraging man.  I am a proud and grateful mother of two kids and belly scratcher to our Puggle, Sue Ellen.  I love to get lost in a great book, drink divine wine and eat delicious food (especially chocolate).  My palette for entertainment is broad and includes anything from a live performance to reality TV.  I love seeing new places and being surrounded by beauty and art.  I'm truly fortunate to have the family and friends that I do because they allow me to do one of my most favourite things, laugh!

My Career path started at the age of 17 when I started as Go-Getter with WestJet - yes that was my actual job title!  I spent 7 years with WestJet, the first few were in Customer Service roles both at the Calgary International Airport and the Head Office.  I then moved into the the Training Department where I delivered the Initial Customer Service Training for our airport team members.  From there I transitioned into the role of Instructional Designer where I designed the training for the Ground Crews.  Working at WestJet was an amazing experience, I learned what it meant to have clear Mission, Vision and Values and saw what creating a culture was all about.

After WestJet, I became a licensed REALTOR®.  I always felt that I was in the relationship business, not the business of selling homes.  I saw my role as an Advisor to my Clients.  It was my job to give them all the information I could and help them to make a decision that was aligned with their goals for a home.

In 2014, I found myself trying to figure out this whole “work life balance” thing.  I was a successful REALTOR®, a wife, a mother and a volunteer.  It was busy.  In fact when someone would ask “How are you?” the best answer I could come up with was “busy”!  I hated that.  For a smart woman, with a great life and lots of amazing things on the go, I was so overwhelmed that the best I could come with was “busy”.  No!  This had to change.

I wanted to feel purposeful in my life.  I wanted to feel like I was doing things that mattered, not just busy.  That’s when I started looking into this work life balance thing.  I found out pretty quickly that it’s bullshit. I needed a new framework in which to see my life.  I now approach my life from a different perspective and my mission is to share that with other “busy” women so they can make a shift, feel purposeful and live the life they envision.
